Reliable Master Craftsmen was founded in 2006 by Robert Pelle in League City, TX. Rob learned the construction trades from the ground up. While in High School he worked for several construction companies doing everything form surveying, grading, installing utilities and roads, laying foundations, framing buildings, installing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hanging and finishing drywall, finish carpentry, masonry, siding, roofing and more.
Rob earned a BS in Systems Engineering from Wright State University while operating a handyman/remodeling company called Handy Services.
Rob first operated Reliable Master Craftsmen out of his 1999 Chevy Suburban with a few tools he had purchased for Handy Services. The company enjoyed steady growth for several years and in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike it grew exponentially with the demand for flood and wind restoration projects. The services of this company grew to encompass all trades required for residential and light commercial building. The motto of the company became, “From the street to the back fence, the foundation to the roof, one call gets it all done at your home.”
We began employing highly skilled tradesmen in carpentry, masonry, roofing, siding, flooring, cabinetry, and much more. These master craftsmen taught these trades to their apprentices and journeyman. Soon, the company could tackle any project big or small. It began to take on light commercial building projects in addition to the residential remodeling work.
Reliable Master Craftsmen grew because of our reputation for delivering value. Our growth was by word of mouth, referrals made by our customers and partners. We never advertised. Our customers knew that when they contracted with us that we would deliver professional services, using quality products and materials, manage our time and their budget, keep our rates reasonable, and our commitments to them. In a word, they trusted us with their most valuable possessions, their home and their wallets and knew that we would do our best to add value with each project.
In 2016, Rob moved to Oregon leaving this business behind in the hands of trusted employees. But as with most small businesses, when its iconic leader moves on, the company begins to falter. In 2018, Rob received his Residential General Contractor’s License from the Construction Contractors Board (CCB) of Oregon and moved Reliable Master Craftsmen to Grants Pass.
